This is an aesthetic blend of the traditional Saree and a Lehenga choli. Lehenga style saree is normally 4.5 meters to 5.5 meters long. Draping a Lehenga Style Saree

 

Compared with traditional sarees, the method of draping a lehenga style is relatively simple and hassle-free. The plain end of the saree is tucked into the in petticoat/skirt and wrapped once completely around the waist, similar to wearing a regular saree. Whereas pleats would be formed in a traditional saree, at this point with the lehenga style one continues to tuck in the drape without making any pleats. (In a Lehenga Style Saree, pleats are replaced with embellished gotas or panels at the front, which imparts a flared silhouette that is characteristic of a Lehenga Style Saree.) Finally, the pallu is draped over the shoulder like a regular saree.

The only difference between a Lehenga style saree and a regular saree is that it doesn't require pleats to be formed at the front. Few Lehenga style saris come with side hooks too. Hook it and fix technique fits the Lehenga style saree snugly around the waist.

Pothys Pasumai kondattam

'Pothys Pasumai Kondattam' - a green celebration, is an initiative that is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility by Pothys. Every customer, on every purchase made, is given a free sapling of their choice (flowering and avenue trees, fruits and vegetable plants, etc), in addition to the manure required to grow the trees effectively. Thousands of saplings are being given out every day at every outlet of Pothys across Tamil Nadu.

To extend this cause further beyond the summer sale, Pothys has involved the student community in evolving a 'Green T. Nagar' initiative, wherein students from different colleges/universities will be planting bamboo saplings in and around the T. Nagar area. The project also involves the maintenance and upkeep of these trees on a regular basis.

In an effort to increase awareness of the need for a green environment, Pothys, a textile showroom here, has undertaken ‘Pothys Pasumai Kondattam,' a campaign, and has been providing saplings to its customers.

Pothys is concerned about climate change and has undertaken this campaign to protect the environment by distributing saplings of tree varieties including mango, sapota, gooseberry, Guava, coconut besides neem, and ashoka.

They have been distributing saplings of flower varieties including roja, jasmine, shoe flower, and vegetable varieties as well as lady's finger, cluster beans, bottle gourd and bitter gourd. Pamphlets on how to go about planting is being distributed. The showroom is also providing fertilizers for cultivating these crops, a press release issued here on Monday said.

The Pothys in Coimbatore opened newly, it targeted customers from Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Karur and the Nilgiris District. Customers were expected from about 150 km radius around Coimbatore. The Pothys here had its strengths in terms of customer service, price and variety. Nearly 80 per cent of sales came from the mid-income segment. It had its own brand in silk – Samudrika, Parampara and Vastrakala Pattu
