Colours of Navratri

Navratri is one of the most auspicious and widely celebrated Indian festivals. Navratri begins with Mahalaya- the homecoming of Goddess Durga, the following nine days are to worship her avatars. The word Navratri means 'Nine Nights' in Sanskrit.
Each day has its own significance and thus has a dedicated color, which if worn is considered to bring an auspicious outcome.  Navratri is celebrated all over India, but in different ways.
In North of India Navratri is celebrated with much religious fervor. People tend to fast and worship every day. In Western India Navratri is one of the main festivals.
